These are two small scale watercolour paintings based on some of my sketch book images.
They are a mixture of observations and imagination. Colour and mystery are also emphasised.

There is an element of storys remaining to be told!

Six Days in Madrid.

These are a few sketches fom our holiday in Madrid. They are brief glimpses captured in a few minutes of our time spent exploring the city. Madrid is vibrant city full of history, art and colour. People were friendly and kind so thhat our lack of Spanish was not usually a problem!

A new year to find some fresh ideas!

A Wassail Ceremony to 'Wake up' the apple trees. This traditional celebration includes dancing,music and song. Also, toast is tied in the branches and cider poured on the roots to ensure a good season of fruit!

The ancient apple tree has a carved Green Man in the branches. This mythical figure has many connections and represents seasonal changes and re-birth.

I love to draw trees and the old crack willows and apple trees at a local wildlife conservation area provide wonderful shapes and inspiration for the months ahead!
