Flower Hat!

In general, I like drawing hats but not wearing them. To my surprise I'm happy wearing this hat at folk festivals, but so far haven't tried it out at home. The time may come however when the need for warmth will outweigh concern about appearances!
This hat was bought in Swanage but made in Nepal so has already done some travelling. Perhaps it will become a friend on future journeys inspiring some adventures!

People and Hats.

Hats seem to have become a theme! Perhaps the best hats belong to the most interesting people?
All these people have their own stories and so indeed do the hats.

People again!

These are two drawings of people seen at Chesea Flower show.
People and Music.

Musicians often make vibrant subjects for drawing and I love the challenge of drawing fast and capturing the movement of the player.

Playing the fiddle to make the sun shine!

People gathered together to shelter from the rain and to play music. As he played the sun started to shine.
I don't know if it really was the tune but but the weather brightened and the dancing could begin.

Music Hat!
This old hat used to live in the dressing-up-box in the attic. Who knows what roles it may have had through the years!
Now it is a musician's hat and hears the jigs and the reels and and slow airs of summer festivals.
